Live outside the Power Grid
Whether power is cut off or just outside the power grid, nothing will stop you from generating your own renewable energy with a solar power generator. It is easy to do it yourself, and all you need are simple materials which are readily available in local stores. Equip yourself with the following materials:- a 12 or 16 volt small solar panel - a 12 volt lead/acid or gel battery - a battery box - a 12 volt DC meter - a triple inlet model DC input - a 115 volt 140 watt inverter (an option you need if you prefer to run AC appliances)Attach the DC input and the meter at the top of the box with a drill. In case you are not convinced, you may want to consider the fact that you still hang out your clothes to dry and bleach light colored fabrics under the sun; and you seven let out shoes, cushions and anything with padding under the white light to help rid of unsightly smell. The prices will eventually drop as it is expected that in 2010 $90 billion will be spent on solar power, as opposed to only $20 billion last year. There is no doubt that installing a solar panel has great financial benefits in the long run but I was determined not to pay thousands of dollars in order to get one. There are a number of these batteries on the market, but choose those which demand no maintenance. How about the cost of having a homemade solar power system?Is putting up your own solar power system expensive? No. Installing a solar power system with the roof shingles, roofing tiles, and solar panels could add about 4% or less to your overall cost of your house, however, it will immediately give you the price premium of 10%. You will make your home energy efficient, and increase the value of your property.
