Glass sinks
Glass sinks can be vessel sinks, wall hung or the pedestal type. Vessel type sinks can be mounted easily on the counter top or other surface. Pedestal type glass sinks can have one pedestal which act as the base or may have multiple legs. Wall mounted are attached to the walls with the help of brackets, all the plumbing for the sink will be of concealed type. Glass sinks have strength equal to any porcelain sinks. But glass sinks are prone to thermal or heat shock. Thermal shocks are a result of sudden temperature changes. This usually occurs in construction sites where the sinks are kept outside with out any temperature regulation mechanism.
Make sure your job sit is heated before installing the glass sinks. Most breakage of glass sinks occur when fixing the drain assembly to the glass sink. Over tightening of the drain causes the damage. So always it is better to hand tighten the drain assembly. Glass sinks can be used in master baths, guest baths and even in kid’s bathrooms.
